The player must balance these two items on the path to establishing the beachhead.

Sentiment Level - is how open the local inhabitants are to influence by the player. The sentiment level also provides buffs and debuffs the help the player. While as the threat level increases, the player is debuffed / effects that negatively affect the player.
Threat Level - This is the alertness level of the local inhabitant military. When the threat level reaches full, the player loses the planet. If this is the only planet the player holds, the game ends. All aggressive actions and increased player activity will increase this rating. Missions can raise and reduce threat levels depending on objectives and outcomes. Affects attack, ranges of detection, higher crit chance against player soldiers during combat. Discovery of player bases and more enemy missions against player.
