World Bases
Strategic Marker on Planet
Since the player's base is in orbit, which limits how craft can operate on the planet(s), World bases [WB] are small strategic capture points that act like mini bases.

Resources Nearby
This tells the player if there are any resource veins in range of this WB. If there are resources in range, then by building resource refineries, the player can mine those resources. See Resource Veins for details.
Maintenance & Production
Maintenance costs per month - These are calculated per month and shown in the monthly reports. If a player has only held the WB for a fraction of the month, the costs will be reduced.
Production per month - The resources and rewards generated in a month. These will only be rewarded when the player has occupied for the full month.
Defensive Stats
WB once owned by a player or enemy needs to be protected. Each WB will have base stats for defence but by building additional defensive facilities these stats can increase for a better chance of defence.
By default, WBs are hidden from the enemy. Player activity, use of advanced tech & inability to complete missions can lead to player’s facilities being exposed. This would increase the radius of influence from the center of the on-world base. When an enemy craft first flies through the radius, the base becomes visible based on a %probability.
Defence - How much damage can the base sustain before defences are destroyed.
Detection Range - How far away from the WB does the enemy craft need to be to be able to detect the player-owned WB.
Detection Probability - If the enemy craft is within the detection range, what is the probability of detection while within range.
Facility Expansion Slots & Types
WBs can serve many purposes for players based on the types of facilities they build. Before a new facility can be built, there needs to be a free expansion slot. Slots can be purchased or existing facilities can be raised to make room (little orange button under icon).

Once a free slot is available, the player can select the facility type they want to build. Costs, time to build and other information are provided on mouse hover. (Icons not ready yet). Once built the facilities begin operating immediately.

Facility Types
Resource Processor
Increases monthly production output for any refinery
Craft Recovery
Allows player craft to use as a resting spot to refuel - extends craft range by double.
Engineering Workshops
Reduces production time and costs of engineering projects on the same planet.
Air Defense Missiles
Provides additional defence against enemy attacks. Also provides an offensive ability to return fire on attacking enemies.
Local Trading Hub
Improves relations with local inhabitants. Speeds up delivery of purchases from the market.
Resource Refinery
Allows the extraction of resources of nearby resource veins.
Listening Post
Reduces detection range and probability. Improves detection of enemy craft and nearby bases.
Automated Laboratory
Speeds up research projects conducted on the same planet.
Grav Shields
Repells enemy attacks, takign away one turn to fire on WB
Spire Receiver
Required for the end game. Used in conjunction with transmitters placed on asteroids.
What do the colored lines represent?
When you mouse over an WB, line appear to come from the WB and go over the surface of the planet. These lines represent which World Bases [WBs] this RV can be/is connected to. It also provides hints as to what actions are possible
Red
Both WB and RV not owned by player
Player must first capture both the RV and the WB before being able to connect for resource extraction.
Orange
Either WB OR RV is not owned by player
Player must first capture both the RV and the WB before being able to connect for resource extraction.
Yellow-Green
Both WB + RV are owned by player ut do not have a refinery to connect
Build a refinery at the corresponding WB.
Pink
Both RV + WB are owned and a refinery is ready to connect.
Connect the refinery to the RV
Green
Refinery connected and extracting resources.
